Safe driving should be just how you drive-a habit that you don't think about. It can take time but if you work on it, it will become second nature. All you need to do is be attentive-don't let anything distract you and obey the posted speed limits and road signs.
Never follow the vehicle in front of you too closely and always do a shoulder check when you switch lanes. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination and don't drive while you are on your cell phone-pull over if you absolutely need to make a call or send a text message. It's just not worth getting into an accident and causing yourself or passengers any injuries.
It's also a good idea to check your mirrors every 6-8 seconds and always be scanning the road for other vehicles, pedestrians, animals, children and cyclists. Be aware at all times.
